DIY nursery banner

I'm making a few changes to our bedroom, which we are still sharing with Emilu.  By moving the crib to the opposite side of the room and flanking it with two sets of wall shelves, there was an empty space above it, which I thought could use some dressing, but it had to compliment the shelves and crib bedding, as well as making look cohesive. I settled on a simple banner, here's how I made it:

 The final resting place is just below the wall shelving, I think it looks better there, don't you think?

Pink is pretty

With so many beautiful colors to choose from this Spring, I get lost in all the current trends and obsessions. Confession: Lately I've been pretty hung up on pink, a color I used to hate, go figure! The thing about pink is that it's a tricky color to get right, it needs to be done with taste and austerity.

Anthropologie

Color me Wednesdays is back! One of my favorite stores, Anthropologie, is such an inspiring place for personal and home design. They are having a pre-Fall sale (20%off) on selected merchandise.  I love these Missoni scarves, they are the perfect fall item.  Below are the items that are hitting a note with me.

I love these bulky letters.  They have so many uses: as pin cushions, wall decorations for nurseries, shelving accents, etc.

I love this owl vase.  Owls are my favorite animal accent decor.

These mirrors are fabulous.  You can lump them together on a wall or use only one as a focal point in any room.

Color Me Wednesdays

Here is another issue of Color Me Wednesdays.  This time I have created a collage of blue.  Isn't blue the new black? Some might say it's tangerine, but we can leave that for another Wednesday.  In the meantime, enjoy the palette, which I absolutely adore.

I think I might consider painting our bedroom blue as soon as we have it back to ourselves again. Blue walls with white trim is so contemporary and chic.

I have decided to revamp this blog by having some consistent and subject themed- posts that will, hopefully, make me commit to sitting down and composing more often and then hitting publish.

For our Wednesday theme, I have picked items that either I'm considering buying or just love to look at them, even if I can't afford them yet.  Products that bring color, splash and an overall feeling of yumminess.
